The records consist of seven large blueprint maps showing property lines, utilities and buildings in the area of the company's Brandywine Works, comprising the Hagley Yard, the Upper Yard and the Lower Yard, and the surrounding area. Most of the site is now the property of the Hagley Museum.

The Hagley Museum was established in the aftermath of the Du Pont Company's sesquicentennial in 1952. The museum preserved and partially restored the site of the original Du Pont powder yards, which had closed 30 years before.
